Meet Bret Ballentine – Founder & Principal Agent
Bret Ballentine is the founder of Ballentine Insurance Group (BIG), serving clients from two locations in the Kansas City area — the original office in Downtown Lee’s Summit and the primary office in Kansas City’s Northland.
Known for his tireless work ethic and genuine passion for helping others, Bret has built BIG into a go-to resource for both families and business owners across Missouri and Kansas. He specializes in commercial insurance, helping protect local businesses with customized policies for general liability, workers’ compensation, property, auto, and more. He also provides expert support in home, auto, and life insurance for individuals and families throughout Lee’s Summit, the Northland, and greater Kansas City.
Outside of work, Bret is a proud husband to his high school sweetheart, Valerie, and a devoted father to their two daughters. Whether he's working with a startup in the Northland or a family in Lee’s Summit, Bret leads with the same values: hard work, honest advice, and a deep commitment to the people he serves.

Pete began his insurance career with Farmers in 2017 and joined Ballentine Insurance Group in 2018. Now serving as Agency Director, he leads our team of agents and oversees customer service and retention.
Known for his hands-on leadership and dedication, Pete consistently maintains a 93%+ client retention rate — a reflection of his commitment to long-term relationships and outstanding service.

Rodney Roberts
Meet Rodney Roberts – Commercial Insurance Specialist
With over 40 years of experience in the insurance industry, Rodney brings unmatched expertise to Ballentine Insurance Group. After spending more than 30 years with an independent agency in Illinois, he became a Farmers agent in 2020. In 2025, Rodney merged his Farmers agency with BIG to strengthen our commercial insurance offerings and better serve business clients across the region.
Rodney specializes in business insurance and takes pride in sitting down with business owners to ensure they’re covered in all phases of risk — from general liability and property to workers’ comp, commercial auto, and beyond. His depth of knowledge and personal approach make him a trusted resource for clients looking for smart, tailored protection.
